Paperbag Warriors - 2018 Escalation League

Warhammer 40,000 – In an effort to completed my resolution of actually finishing a force I've decided to run an escalation league for the first part of 2018. It's a fun way to motivate everyone to get their stuff painted and play some games.

The system we're fighting over has 4 planets each provides it's own bonus to the team that controls it each week. (Luckily each planet also matches up with the terrain sets that I have already built, although I might try and get some additional pieces completed once I have my weekly obligation painted)

When you begin a game roll-off with your opponent, the winner choose which planet you are fighting on. Each win moves the team closer to control of the system. The team with the most wins logged on a planet can choose to use the Control Advantage for that planet. Control Advantages are cumulative and if your team controls more than one of the planets in the system you can use any or all  the Control Advantages you have access to. Weekly results need to be reported to me each Sunday and will affect all games played in the following week.

End Goal - To have a 100PL/2000pt painted force built for 8th edition.
Duration - 3-4 months
Start Date: 2/7/18
Imperium vs. Chaos - You must use forces with one of these keywords. No Xenos for this campaign.

Welcome to the Agrax System: Situated north of the great scar this system has been able to continue to function without the support of the greater Imperium. This gleaming pearl in the Darkness has caught the eye of the Dark Gods.

Agrax Prime

An Icy Mining world situated on the outskirts of the system.

Agrax Prime provides the raw materials to help fuel to forges of several Forgeworlds. The extreme cold is dangerous to the unprepared, but worth the risk to gain control of the incredible mineral wealth of the planet.

Planetary Twist - Baby it's cold outside: Any unit that remains stationary suffers a mortal wound on a 6+ at the end of the movement phase.
Control Bonus - Extra Ammo. Once per game in your shooting phase you may roll a D3, that many INFANTRY units may receive extra ammo. They can re-roll 1's to hit until the end of the phase.

Ferrum Virginis
(The Iron Maiden)

A major forgeworld the Iron Maiden births a wealth of
STC pattern constructs that fuels the Imperial War Machine.

In recent months lower levels of the forge have been subject to unrest by the general population and work gangs. A long-standing agreement with the Ecclesiarchy keeps a small garrison of Ministorum Adepts who try to keep the peace among the Emperor's Faithful.

Planetary Twist - Hammers of the Forge: At the end of each movement phase roll a D6 for each vehicle/building  you control on a 6+ that unit regains D3 wounds. On a 1 that unit suffers 1 mortal wound.
Control Bonus - Resupply - Once per game at the end of your movement phase you may return one previously destroyed VEHICLE to the battlefield 6" from a board edge and more than 9" from any enemy. It has D6 wounds remaining. You may not return anything with the BUILDING or TITANIC keyword.

Pike's Pitfall

A overpopulated moon orbiting the forgeworld houses
most of the Noble Bloodlines with investments within the system.

Once know as pleasure garden planet, the flood of fortune seekers has turned this once verdant sphere into an urban jungle. Small domes contain what is left of the once verdant forest amongst the rockrete and plasteel. Trapped in a fixed orbit this moon is endures a nearly endless night.

Planetary Twist - I am the Night: Shooting attacks that target a unit more than 9" away are resolved at -1 to hit.
Control Bonus - Builders Guild - Before the first battle round you may roll a D3. You may deploy that number of fortifications on the battlefield.

Agrax Seccundus

The closest planet to the local star Secundus houses a small spaceport and limited population.

It is rumored that Archeotechs have unearthed some strange relics within the sands of this dusty dry nearly worthless planet. Which drives a nearly endless flock of treasure hunters eager to improve their station in life with potentially priceless ancient technologies.

Planetary Twist - Look What I Found: Before the first battle round roll a D6 on a 5+ the detachment containing your warlord can have a second relic.
Control Bonus - Dust Lords - Before the first Battle Round roll a D3. You may put that many INFANTRY units in reserve. At the end of your movement phase you may place them on the battlefield more than 9" from any enemy units.
